About Sarah Burdell
This I believe:
People react to their environment, culture, and experiences and as a result, develop behaviors that “define” them;
As humans, we have the power to break out of what “defines” us and live life differently;
Relationships start with the individual. As individuals, we can be harder on ourselves than others. I believe it’s possible to be kind and love ourselves first; and
Therapy is not forever. As a therapist, my goal is to put myself out of a job. Clients identify their goals and what brings them to therapy. As clients build skills and coping skills to help them navigate the world, we will review their necessity for therapy as well as how often they need schedule with me.
Bio:
Sarah’s personal mission is to make life better for children in our local and global community. This mission has guided her through her professional life. Before becoming licensed as a Washington State Mental Health Counselor and Substance Use Disorder Professional, Sarah worked in the non-profit sector raising awareness for a variety of causes (Children’s Home Society of Washington, Seattle Arts & Lectures, Seattle Opera, KCTS9, and Puget Sound Blood Center to name a few). Now as a therapist, she primarily works with teenagers, families, and individuals. Clients who come work with her typically are overwhelmed by a life transition and/or have experienced trauma, relationship struggles, anxiety, depression, and/or grief.
